Technique: Treatment based on East/West observations {history, posture, pathology, palpation, kinesiology etc.} unique to each individual's needs.
My treatment is NOT heavy handed. It is cross fiber and very lymphatic in nature. It helps correct posture and ease pain.
The Lymphatic system is a part of the body's circulatory system. It is responsible the care, cleaning, feeding and continuing repairs to all parts of the body. Once this clear fluid leaves the arteries and disperses through the surrounding tissues it is called lymph. It carries vitamins, minerals and various other cells that help protect and repair the body. The Lymphatic system is also responsible for the cleaning of cellular waste or trash, sending it through lymph nodes/vessels and back through the bloodstream to be excreted out via liver, kidneys.
To clarify the difference between Lymphatic Drainage and Lymphatic Muscle Therapy mainly has to do with 2 factors. Lymphatic Drainage normally is associated with Lymphedema usually due to post cancer treatments involving removal of lymph nodes or radiation. This is a set pattern of extremely light sequential movements at the surface of the skin to fascilitate the slow return of fluid from swollen limbs back towards the heart.
Lymphatic Muscle Therapy can address the extremes of lymphedema and is not heavy handed. Each client is assessed from medical history and daily tolerance as to the progressionary treatment. It also can address the more common complaints such as minor swellings, aches, pains, tight dry muscles, lack of flexibility, fatigue, headaches.
Lymphatic Muscle therapy finds the points in the body that are not allowing the lymphatics to move freely. This movement includes back to the extremities such as hands and feet as well as moving fluid back towards the lymphatic centers and heart. Most other techniques will adhere to one direction only- in all honesty- the body needs to continually flow both directions at all times to survive. It is one continuous loop and any section that is blocked up will cause a damming effect of fluids behind it. If I told you your left shoulder problem is also causing your right calf and ankle to stiffen up and hurt, I am not citing magic, only biology. The majority of the lymphatic system drains to the left side of your heart and the right leg, calf and ankle are at the end of that chain.
I feel my clients should be educated. If you understand what I am working on and why- improvements come in leaps and bounds
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.

Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.
Many times our bodies are overwhelmed by Life events. We get stuck in Fight or Flight body reactions and end up frustrated and exhausted.

Improve breathing ( ribs/ chest, diaphragm)
Help reduce swelling that may cause pain
Address muscles that may be tightening up the head, neck and jaw/ headaches
Rocking the body to relax the nervous system, help digestion, elimination and aid sleep
